There is a caveat: Toronto Zoo lost its AZA accreditation for its city council sending its elephants to PAWS. The move has been sabotaged by the keepers and director, possibly at the underhand of the AZA, and the elephants still are not moved. It's been a fiasco and the AZA will certainly hold Toronto as an example to the Topeka council. However the mayor and citizens of Tucson is very upset at the euthanasia of Connie sent to San Diego after advocates tried to get her to PAWS. The Tucson mayor may be seeing the light and may be of some influence to you in Topeka to get T&S to TES. Zoos like circuses lie, it behooves educating reporters to this fact with documentation because they influence the masses. In the political football game of which elephants are, we have to keep hitting our heads of truth against the brick wall of AZA lies.
